Summer fashion

If you gravitate towards dark or neutral colored clothing, I can relate. But the warmer weather encourages us to ditch dark outfits for something bright and colorful, which is why I am challenging myself to change that habit by incorporating more colors into my everyday wardrobe. Brighten up your closet, and swap out the blacks and whites with these basics!

1. Color-Block Collarless Blouse from Sentubila

Work-appropriate blouses with personality can create a lot of impact at the office. I like how well this cleverly paneled piece drapes over a tailored pair of dress pants. Tuck in for day, un-tuck for night.

2. Ombre Skinny Jeans from DANI LOVE

Denim hardly pairs well with flashier items, at least in my closet. However, this slightly ripped pair can make an edgy and feminine statement. Not only is it fit for a creative or casual office, but it also makes for chic date night looks!

3. Checked Dress with Peter Pan Collar from Q.C.T

A retro Peter Pan collar, a pink hue and checks are all cute ways to achieve a sweet-girl vibe. The simple silhouette keeps this dress versatile, making it perfect for wearing with black-and-white accessories on the weekend.

4. Blue Trench Coat from Romantica.

What color is appropriate for both work and play? Cobalt blue is a bold favorite of mine, and a lightweight, versatile trench coat is an easy pick to rock this brilliant hue. This feminine topper is sure to look great with dainty gold accessories and nude pumps!

5. Ruffled Pencil Skirt from chuu

This lovely orange pencil skirt is just as ideal for casual looks as it is at the office. I’d love pairing it with hot colors such as fuchsia, but if your office is more conservative, a crisp white blouse will be enough to set you apart.

6. Patterned Pink Sunglasses from iLANURA

Sunglasses are kind of like shoes – just one glimpse at them and people can determine your sense of style. Spring is a good time to bust out bright and bold styles, and this retro-inspired pair (with its of-the-moment brow bar) looks straight out of a Pinterest photo. It’s best for spicing up neutral looks.

7. Ice-Cream Print Swimsuit from chuu

This deliciously printed, sweetheart-neckline bathing suit is a good reminder that some things are simply better in vintage form. It’s pulled together while making a statement, and is perfect for lounging by the pool or taking a dip in the sea.

8. Block Heel Ankle Boots from FROMBEGINNING

Ankle boots are one of those staples that’s reliable, easy to wear, and is often underrated. Thanks to its refreshing hue, this pair is exciting enough for punching up white and light-colored neutrals, which are essentially the palette of all my office outfits. With the right pencil skirt and blouse, it can make for a very stylish look for the office.

9. Lace-Up Flats from JY Shoes

Bright cobalt blue meets lace-up pointy flats to create these edgy kicks that are destined to become a serious sartorial hit. The slender shoes laces make them more forward and elevated. The pair will come in handy when you want to add some edge and hipness to a ladylike dress.

10. Bright Satchel from chuu

If you’re currently in a bag rut and hoping to give your everyday looks a little pop of color, a versatile, trusty satchel is the first item I’d recommend. Wear this with low-key pieces and let the bright hue do the talking.
