A FRAGRANCE CAN TAKE YOU BACK A LIFETIME

Don’t you have that too, when you are somewhere and they play that one song, it takes you back to a specific moment in life that impacted you deeply; that summer love, a childhood Sunday morning memory, simply feeling that is indescribable… The same goes, for me, with scents. I know this sounds a tad strange, but trust me, I’m only referring to the good scents, and the good moments in my life that they bring up.

To me, a fragrance can take me back a lifetime. Moments that have impacted me deeply, have always had some relation to a fragrance of a person. I remember people by the way their scent. Again, I know this sounds a bit strange, but to me it’s entirely normal. When I was only 6 years old, my favorite and only grandpa passed away. Needless to say, this was a very impactful moment in my little life. However, what saved me from night of tears, was a little pocket square he had been wearing – he was a very dandy grandpa – which still carried the scent of his comforting mens fragrance. My grandma knew and she sewed it into a little “envelope” in which I could put little things and carry it around with me. I brought it with me everywhere I went, and gave me huge comfort.

The next chapter in my life, in which certain scents brought me back to certain moments, was the “boyfriends” chapter. Hilarious right! But honestly, when I smell that one fragrance from that one boyfriend, I get carried back in time. I can literally recognize of all of them – okay okay, it wasn’t that many!

And of course, there are certain scents I know, and don’t like, and certain ones that are as far from a fragrance as they can be – like the scents of my babies when they were just born – that bring back a lifetime of memories. But my point is that a fragrance, to me, is connected to moments of love and life. And love is an endless source of happiness and the most powerful state of mind. So you can imagine, a fragrance is pretty important to me.

The new Tiffany & Co. fragrance captures this moment in my life right now, the feelings that come with it, when worn on my morning skin, or when I go out at night. And to celebrate the global launch of their fragrance, I’ve been wearing it close to my heart. Not by ways of spraying it right there, but where I feel my life pulse; where I wear my favorite Tiffany & Co. bracelet. Spraying it on my wrists, briefly touching behind my ears, and I would be ready to go. It’s delicate, but powerful. It’s young, but sophisticated. It’s me, and together we will be creating a lifetime of memories, starting this Fall in Paris…
