MILKYDRESS Wrinkle & Whitening Eye Cream Review

The YS Beauty Lab

If other women say that diamonds are their best friends, I’m just going to be honest and say that eye creams and concealers are mine. While I’ve also tested and used eye patches, these are only temporary solutions just like makeup. Thus I always take any product that reportedly erases dark circles and wrinkles with a grain (or five) of salt.

I chose the MILKYDRESS Wrinkle and Whitening Eye Cream because with its 93.9% customer satisfaction rating from 138 reviews, I was curious if the outcome would be positive for me too. Besides, at its current price of US$5.16, a whopping 60% discount from its original price of US$12.90, there won’t be any buyer’s remorse on my part, for sure.

The 15ml cream comes in a small tube with a nozzle at the end which pumps out a tiny amount. I only need so little of this product for each application so I’m sure that this will last me probably about two or three months, if not more. Among its ingredients are niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, grape seed oil (Vitis vinifera seed oil), avocado oil (Persea gratissima oil) and dimethicone plus assorted herbal extracts such as mistletoe, rose-root rhodiola, damask rose, bear berry leaf, and ground cherry fruit which are midway down the list.

In contrast, I discovered that the previous version of the Eye Cream included sunflower oil, arbutin instead of niacinamide, and Japanese camellia oil and olive oil high up on the ingredient list. It also included Retinyl Palmitate (which is different from retinol, apparently) that merited a scary score of 9 in COSDNA’s ranking for skin irritation and comedogenic reaction. The cream is quite gel-like in texture which makes it more absorbable and also feels less sticky, unlike heavier eye creams which tend to just sit on top of my skin. There’s also a subtle cooling sensation that I like that boosts the overall soothing feeling whenever I use the cream. Admittedly, there are days when I completely forgot to apply it (I use it morning and night) but a quick look in the mirror in the morning gives me a very grim reminder.

After using it for nearly a month, there is some small improvement in the texture and appearance of the skin under my eyes. They look less sunken, and just a little firmer, especially if I’ve managed to enjoy at least 7 hours of sleep. Any less than that requires copious amounts of concealer and foundation to look passably human the next day, even with regular use of the eye cream.

Using the MILKYDRESS Wrinkle and Whitening Eye Cream as an add-on to your skin care regimen along with a healthy lifestyle, especially with food, hydration and sleep, is the best way to maximize all its benefits.
