My Favorite Dior Handbags

Dior is one of my favorite brands when it comes to skincare, makeup, and of course handbags. Dior was founded in 1946 by Christian Dior and is one of the top fashion houses today. Unfortunately, Dior has been somewhat overshadowed by other classic brands such as Chanel and Hermes; at the same time, it is not as trendy as newer brands such as Celine, Chloe or Saint Laurent. To me, Dior rests in between classic and modern, and having elements of both makes Dior unique and special.

Without further ado, here are my favorite Dior handbags!

Lady Dior
Dior’s iconic bag is the Lady Dior made famous by Princess Diana. Nothing is a must have, but if you like designer handbags and appreciate their history, craftsmanship, design and have disposable income then Lady Dior is a must have in your collection. I love everything about the Lady Dior bag from the cannage print to the boxy shape to the Dior charms to the curved top handles. This is such a classic and feminine bag, my ideal Lady Dior would be a light color in lambskin.

Miss Dior
I never gave the Miss Dior line too much thought until I saw a Miss Dior Wallet-On-Chain in stores and fell in love with the more modern look of the Miss Dior. Similar to the Lady Dior, Miss Dior has the cannage print but the shape is structured liked a flap bag with a metal cinch closure mechanism. I generally prefer minimal hardware but something about Miss Dior’s hardware and cannage print combo makes it breathtaking. Miss Dior also comes with various metal chains that are very unique. Note Miss Dior comes in various sizes and designs can vary slightly depending on the specific style.

Diorama
Diorama is one of Dior’s latest It bags. Introduced in 2015, the Diorama’s contemporary and modern design makes it a bit hit among bag lovers and fashion bloggers. I love the enlarged cannage print, the symmetrical clean lines, and the chunky shoulder strap. Many people compare this bag to the Chanel Boy and points to the similarities between the two. Although I agree the Diorama is similar to the Chanel Boy, I still think the two bags are very different. Personally between the regular quilted Channel Boy and the Diorama, I like the Diorama more. The harder battle for me comes down to the large chevron Chanel Boy vs. the Diorama. Nonetheless, a girl can still dream about the burgundy or light gray Diorama.

Diorever
I love modern work totes, from Prada’s double zip saffiano to Saint Laurent’s sac de jour to Dior’s Diorever. Diorever is a recent design launched in Dior’s SS2016 collection. I fell in love with this bag immediately. The classic shape, the clean lines, and the beautiful leather, there isn’t much to not love. Personally the ideal woman (or man) carrying the bag would be a working professional. The bag exudes confidence and independence. Although the bag is Birkin inspired, I think it is more modern / urban and is “easier” to carry.

Dior Wallet on Chain
Wallet on chains are my favorite so I have to add them to this list. If you love any of the Dior handbags but don’t want to cut a big hole into your wallet then you should take a look at the wallet on chains from Dior. Dior offers wallet on chain styles for many of its popular designs, including the classic cannage with the charms like Lady Dior, Miss Dior, and Diorama. Dior WOCs are a great value compared to Chanel WOCs (~$1K vs. $2K). Then compared to WOCs from Prada and Saint Laurent, you might have to pay a couple hundred dollars more but Dior’s quality is worth the price.

Diorissimo
The Diorissimo is growing on me recently. The Diorissimo is basically the Lady Dior without the cannage print and in a softer leather. Both the Diorissimo and Lady Dior are very feminine bags but the Diorissimo is more understated and casual. I bet Lady Dior overshadows the Diorissimo all the time. I love the timeless shape and the beautiful leather for the Diorissimo. Between the two if I had to pick one, currently I would pick Lady Dior but I have a feeling in 10 years, I might like the Diorissimo more.

Be Dior
Be Dior is another bag that grew on me recently. The single top handle and flap design makes it very feminine. Even with the charms, this bag is so simple and looks so clean. I think a very bright color Be Dior would be so beautiful!
