Summer fashion

My “what to give” list for the holiday season is enough to launch me into a panic, not to mention the “what to get” – chic yet festive outfits for the occasion! With a wardrobe full of versatile items that I love and wear season after season, I am not the biggest fan of the typical glittery styles (usually worn once at a certain social soiree and forgotten for the rest of the year). Also when it is cold, dark and the drinks are flowing, you will want to be comfy more than ever. This list may inspire you with stylish holiday solutions that tick all the boxes!mtt-nov2

1. Leather Hem Pleated Dress from Chlo.D.Manon

Wearing sleek and classic (faux) leather is one of the easiest ways to add polish and a little interest to a plain look. I love the pleated hem that gives this cozy dress some structured feel. Accessorize with dainty gold jewellery and ankle boots and you’re good to go!

2. Pink Belted Dress from MyFiona

There is no better timing than the holidays to break free from muted winter colors. Continue to embrace the fresh palette carried over from fall with this pink dress. The rosy hue softens up the belted look just perfectly. Top pick for office parties!

3. Plaid Jacket fromJ-ANN

We will continue our plaid thoughts this season, with simpler, clearer iterations than the Western or schoolgirl types. This collarless tweed jacket is a sleek layer that can effortlessly add a splash of color and textural interest to any look.

4. Off-Shoulder Knit Dress from PUFII

The ultra-flattering cold-shoulder look isn’t going anywhere! In fact, it looks like it’s going to become an all-season style. This cozy knit dress with skinny straps and a nipped-in waist is surprisingly eye-catching. Add tall boots and a sleek topper, and you’re ready for happy hour.

5. Velvet Dress from JVLLY

Velvet is back in a big way as the chill sets in. I am thrilled this luxe fabric is having its moment again. This insouciant dress is an example of French-girl style meets of-the-moment material. While the material makes the essence of the look, let the side slit and self-tie waist sash do all the talking!

6. Embellished Button-Down from icecream12

The timeless button-down looks just as effortless around the house as at the office. Bonus points if it includes standout details like the embroidered flamingo on the collar of this one. Add statement jewellery and ripped jeans for a chic look that’s perfect for dressed-down holiday gatherings!

7. Honeycomb Print Wrap Dress from Marlangrouge

Like they say: When in doubt, rock a wrap dress! This is especially true for dressy occasions. The flattering cut is classic for good reasons. I’d go for this slick patterned edition, which provides something different and way more festive than basic LBDs.

8. Burgundy Trench Coat from INSTYLEFIT

If I were to stick with just one topper all season, it’d be this classic trench fashioned in rich burgundy hue. There’s something so effortlessly chic about the trench silhouette, and it complements the longer length of formal dresses. I’d downplay the rest of my outfit and keep accessories to a complete minimum, except for a matching pair of earrings for special occasions!

9. Jumper Dress from Dalkong

We’ve seen creative layers evolving these days, including the spaghetti strap jumper dress. The muted tone and subtle contrasting details of this one makes it a sophisticated, modern version of your school uniform. Wear it over a turtleneck on those chilly evenings, and go big on accessories!

10. Tassel Earrings from Calypso

When it’s freezing outside and layering up becomes essential, what better way to lift your holiday spirits than putting on some costume jewellery? The build-up to the party season gives me a lot of excitement – one reason being the opportunity to rock these tassel earrings! Match it up with pastels for a totally cohesive and classy look. These earrings will instantly make an off-duty outfit worthy of cocktail parties.
