Perhaps it’s because I’m always in a rush to get ready, or simply too lazy to venture out of comfort zones. Being a creature of habit, it is easy to fall into the same routine when picking out outfits in the morning. As a fresh start for this year, how about reinventing the looks worn on repeat? Be it a rediscovery of forgotten pieces, a change in texture, the addition of a cool layer, or a remix of wardrobe staples, this list is for small change-ups that make trusty outfits fresh again. Here’s to new sartorial ventures!

1. Knit Dress + Tonal Cardigan Set from Octavia

Blacks, whites, grays and navys… My go-to outfits often come in these sober and stony shades. How about trying out a monochromatic look in a different palette? This nude dress and cardigan set is really simple and easily chic. It’s also a great look to draw attention to a new statement bag or shoes.

2. Crop Jacket from PUFII

If your downtime dressing favors a sporty, comfortable vibe (think tunic dress, sneakers and neutrals), try adding this textured crop jacket. Mixing different lengths makes an impact even in casual looks, not to mention this minimal piece stays true to my relaxed vibe.

3. Leaf Print Blouse from OrangeBear

I’m all for mixing prints to shake things up. A not-so-secret trick is to stay in the same color family. This dark leaf-print blouse can, for instance, be paired with my beloved striped navy skirt to nail the print-on-print look.

4. Red Peplum Sweater from Seoul Fashion

I wear lots and lots of neutrals, so a little pop of color is long overdue. With a vibrant red sweater, I can break out of my neutral streak and ease into bright shades fit for spring and summer. Pair with boyish brogues to contrast the girly peplum.

5. Pinstripe Boyfriend Pants from Fancy Show

I’m as loyal to my skinny jeans as the next girl, but on really lazy days, it’d be nice to switch things up. Give the jeans a breather with these pinstripe pants. Perfect for pairing with graphic tees and sneakers, or with a chunky knit for chilly evenings.

6. Pleated Wide-Leg Pants from Hello sweety

Just in case you can’t stomach the laidback vibe of the baggy linen pants above and still want to reach for your skinnies, may I suggest these pleated wide-leg pants? The fresh silhouette and minimalist design will prompt you to embrace different proportions, and even new tops to pair with the wider legs.

7. Lace Overlay Pencil Skirt from JVLLY

A stylish piece with texture and a bright color, this sassy laser-cut skirt is another good pick to break out of a monochromatic routine. The knee length is appropriate for work, while the intricate texture contrasts with sleek button-downs.

8. Pompom Earrings from soo n soo

Large earrings can make any outfit interesting, even when you’re only wearing a plain black turtleneck. These cute pompoms are my when-all-else-fails accessory to punch up neutral looks. No need to wait for the style to make a comeback, as the statement earring trend has never really left us.

9. Bow-Accent Suede Heels from ATTYSTORY

This is the year I learn to love pumps again. Not just the blocky, manageable ones, but also the skinny and sleek stilettos that make me feel so pretty. The tonal knotted bows of this pair add plenty of appeal, making it naturally perfect for refreshing foundation pieces.

10. Boxy Handbag from LINGLAN

Give the slouchy bag a rest and reach for this top-handle lady bag that doesn’t crumble when placed on your desk. Swapping to a structured bag truly is the fastest way to look more put together. Despite its sharp lines and boxy silhouette, this sleek
