Legendary singer, songwriter and artist Bob Dylan has teamed up with American lifestyle and clothing brand Barking Irons in partnership with Sony Music’s “The Thread Shop” to design a premium sportswear collection available this fall.
Drawing inspiration from music, culture and lifestyle for distinctive story-driven collections, Barking Irons introduces a carefully crafted clothing line focused on Dylan’s own style from the early years in 1960s Greenwich Village through his epic Rolling Thunder Revue tour in the mid ‘70s. The Rolling Thunder Collection takes notes from key pieces that Dylan wore and updates them for the modern age.
Telling a story through the intimate details of the clothing means everything to Barking Irons and the Rolling Thunder Collection is an example of the brand’s commitment to that purpose. Dylan’s story is told through sewn-in details of a harmonica logo, embroidered lyrics on the inside of a collar, original typewritten lyrics with his marginalia as well as many more surprises quietly woven into the collection.
To ensure authenticity and provide the absolute best quality garments, Barking Irons even sought out production partners behind some of Dylan’s most iconic pieces. The fedora featured in the collection was created in collaboration with the Los Angeles-based milliner who actually created many hats for the artist using molds that were created for many of Bob Dylan’s signature styles. “This collection is truly about the personal connection between the wearer and Dylan,” says Creative Director Daniel Casarella. “We very much wanted these styles to speak to the fan with immersive details on the inside, while keeping the everyday wearability on the outside.”
