Last September, I took a little side-project… All dressed up in my favorite Dolce-summer-look I shared one of my favorite smoothie recipes with you. Now I know these kids of side-projects are known to be either a huge success, or a little off. Luckily you guys LOVED the first one, so a second got on the calendar. And it’s here! Bringing a little summer into our kitchens, and much tropical-vibes to our hearts…
I’m not sure if I can call this smoothie my second favorite. Because this one is as much a favorite as the first. Yet, as one of my friends once said when I shared it with her, it truly tastes like summer. Like a hot afternoon on a beach somewhere tropical, with an amazing cocktail in your hands… This one is – needless to say – without any alcohol, but when you drink it, I bet you know what I mean!
This is what you need for two mug jars:
- KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender
- 2 mug jars
- 2 straws
- 1 small watermelon, but I use only one half and cut it into chunks
- 2 tablespoons shredded coconut
- A handful of mint leaves, of course rinsed before use
- 1 cup of milk or unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup of ice cubs
Then I literally throw everything into my beloved KitchenAid® Pro Line® Series Blender and slowly turn up the speed until it’s all really smooth. Then last step is pouring it into your mug jars, adding the straws, and drink it! Again Dan – my photographer – functioned as my test person, and he – while not a fan of milky drinks – loved it! So bottoms up and enjoy a little bit of summer during those cold winter days!
