Several of New York’s most fashionable ladies, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jourdan Dunn, artist Rachel Feinstein and Man Repeller blogger Leandra Medine, are teaming up with luxury house Fendi to give its iconic baguette a makeover! As Sex and the City fans know, SJP as ‘Carrie Bradshaw‘ helped put the Fendi baguette on the fashion map. Model Jourdan has strutted her stuff down the Fendi runways. And Rihanna has toted and/or owns more Fendi bags than probably all of the ladies combined!
Karl Lagerfeld and Silvia Venturini Fendi have given these fashionistas full access to the design studio so that they can reinvent the new Fendi 3Baguette bag – “a style launched at the end of last year that reinterprets the Fendi accessory with a more structured shape and the FF logo becoming a lock rather than simply a decorative element,” according to WWD. Since each lady has her own unique sense of style, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of customized Fendi each of them comes up with. Will Rihanna create something edgy and trendy? Will SJP design a clutch with a ladylike feel? Will Leandra opt for a look that’s more androgynous? We can’t wait to see the final products!
Each bag will be unveiled at a cocktail party and then displayed at the new flagship Fendi store on Madison Avenue in New York, from February 13 and March 13. Afterwards, the bags will be auctioned off via a dedicated online auction site, launch3baguetteauction.fendi.com, with proceeds going to each woman’s selected charity:
Rihanna: The Clara Lionel Foundation
Sarah Jessica Parker: The Brain Trauma Foundation
Jourdan Dunn: The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America
Rachel Feinstein: The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital
Leandra Medine: The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund
