MZ Wallace Launches Its First-Ever Leather Capsule Collection

For MZ Wallace co-founders and designers Monica Zwirner and Lucy Wallace Eustice, 2016 is the year of leather, hence the reason why the accessories brand has officially released its first-ever capsule leather collection of five quilted, all-black staples.

“The moment felt right,” Zwirner said in a statement. “We have dabbled in a leather style here and there, and our customers have always responded well. So, we took it as a sign that maybe adding a small capsule leather collection to sit next to our core nylon collections would enrich our worlds, not detract from it.”

Similar in style to the brand’s previous Oxford quilted nylon selections, these splurge-worthy, contemporary bags are made of Italian lambskin leather with an interior made of Japanese felt, all pieced together by hand. Dubbed, respectively, the Metro Tote, Small Sutton, Mini Backpack, Pippa Crossbody, and Quilted Wallet, the multi-ranging offerings are perfect for those who abide by a more-is-more philosophy, as wella s those who simply prefer to pick up and go with way, way less.

“We loved the idea of taking one of our best selling bags from the Oxford collection, the Metro Tote, and producing it in a luxe leather version at what will be the highest price in our collection. It’s interesting to play with the high-low contrast,” added Wallace Eustice.
